The Godmother of Cannabis Industry Recruiting, Kara has been an HR professional, specializing in Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Workforce Planning, Legal Compliance and Organizational Design for over 20 years. Her career has spanned multiple Fortune 100 companies and start-ups in a wide range of industries. Kara has an MBA in Human Resources & Organizational Behavior and is LinkedIN, PRC, CIR, and CSSR Certified. She also has a Master’s degree in Marketing and Non-Profit Management Administration and sits on the Board of a Global Recruiting organization. Kara is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences in both the Cannabis and HR industries and heads up the NCIA’s Human Resources Committee.  She has been named a “Woman to Watch” by MJBiz Daily/Magazine.

David Murét

Co-Founder & COO

With a diverse background including Public Policy and Law, Information Technology, Finance and Business Development, David serves as Viridian’s “Swiss Army Knife,” providing essential support to Viridian’s best-in-class staffing & recruiting team.  David’s responsibilities include overseeing marketing, partnerships, trade shows, events and negotiations as well as the selection, deployment and management of information technology.  David also has extensive experience working with industry organizations, serving as a board member and personally spearheaded the effort to broker the merger of four separate organizations to form Washington State’s largest cannabis industry association.  David has also become an increasingly frequent public speaker at industry conferences & events.

Joanna Monroe

General Counsel

Joanna Monroe is a senior executive, C-Suite adviser and board director with a proven track record of helping companies transform and grow profits while reducing risk. Joanna served for over 15 years as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at TrueBlue, Inc., a publicly traded staffing company with $3B in revenues, 700 branches and 500,000 temporary workers. With close to 25 years in staffing, she is an expert on human capital management, human resources and employment law and is highly regarded for implementing large scale operational, compliance and legal initiatives that contribute to high-performance business results and improve the bottom line.
